![]() ![]() The Board of Trustees is composed of parents and parents of alumni. The Board sets all administrative policies and is responsible for the maintenance and finances of the school. Parents are invited to join the Board when the openings occur. The Acorn School operates under the permanent charter of the New York State Board of Regents. Parent-teacher conferences are scheduled twice a year, in the fall and spring. If necessary, additional conferences may be scheduled with the teachers or the Director. The Acorn School is a member of ISAAGNY - the Independent Schools Admissions Association of Greater New York. Fund-raising events are scheduled throughout the year. Money raised from these events helps pay for the maintenance and development of the Acorn School. Parents are strongly urged to participate. Some of the events during the year are a Potluck Dinner and a Spring Auction. In addition, parents are encouraged to observe their children during the school year (one-way mirrors) and as the children move into older classes, parents are invited to share their talents, hobbies and occupations with the class. Parents are welcome to join our beautification committee and participate in charitable community events. |
